Steve Whitham
Managing Director

Steve Whitham is Managing Director of Whitham Media Australia, which was established in 1990. In that time he has developed many long-term relationships with major Australian organisations.

Prior to establishing Whitham Media, Steve enjoyed a long career in the electronic media as a television journalist, newsreader and presenter.  The skills learned in that time have enabled Steve to interpret complex topics relating to safety, production processes and other issues and then successfully communicate them through multimedia channels to employees and other target audiences.

An easy ability to mix and communicate with all levels of a company structure and a strong journalistic background also enables Steve to get the best performance from people in interview and other situations.  Steve believes in putting the Health and Safety of our people, and that of our customers, first.

Steve has instilled a culture in the business of acting with Respect and Integrity in all our business and personal interactions.

Benjamin Day

Production Manager

Benjamin joined Whitham Media in 2013 as Production Manager and is responsible for liaising with clients, film crews and the Whitham Media editing team to coordinate the production process.

In his role as Production Manager, Benjamin is responsible for coordinating cast, locations, equipment and any required licensing for various shoots.

Richard Lanyon

Post Production Specialist – Producer – Director

Richard Lanyon is a highly skilled professional editor/director. He has been in the advertising and television production industry in Adelaide for over 20 years.

In that time he has worked with, learned from and shared knowledge with some of the best people in the industry and brings that extensive knowledge to every production.

His previous work experience includes working with Imagination Entertainment and Pepper Studios, before establishing his own freelance company Merlin Post Production.


Don Brice


Don Brice is an award winning commercial photographer of over 20 years experience. With a background in media, his images have a strong narrative quality and feature dynamic use of angles and colour. His specialty is for industrial portraiture that captures the place and atmosphere of the worksite.

Don works extensively with mining and engineering industries, the wine sector, and for architects and construction companies. His images appear in annual reports, websites and in advertising. Don also volunteers photography for the non-for profit sector and has documented numerous third world community development projects for Australian aid agencies. He also maintains an art practice and his illustrative works have appeared in books, magazines and galleries, both overseas and in Australia. 



Russell Marrett


Russell has worked as a camera man in film and television for 16 years, approximately 6 of those years being with Whitham Media. His experience includes filming television commercials, documentaries, corporate films, television programs and feature films.

His work has taken him all over Australia and internationally, giving him insight into a variety of industries and cultures.

Russell also works regularly as a Camera Assistant/Focus Puller with leading Australian Directors of Photography on large television and documentaries, and is familiar with most camera formats.


John Cowin

Sound Specialist

John Cowin is an Audio Specialist with 37 years experience in television/video production.  He commenced his distinguished career at the ABC as a studio cameraman specialising in outside broadcasts, progessing to the position of Audio Director.

John left the ABC after 13 years and became Audio director at ADS Channel 10, before moving to HSV Channel 7 in Melbourne specialising in live television broadcasting for two years, after which he returned to Adelaide as Audio Director at ADS Channel10.

John's skills include sound recording for television, video and documentaries.



Grant Wood

Cinematographer - Sound Specialist

Grant has worked with Whitham Media in both the resources and energy sectors over an 18 year period.

Grant has 24 years experience in various areas of production with particular emphasis on sound recording.  Grant has been involved in video production since 1987 for two years, focussing on commercial production, corporate videos. documentaries and live events.
He continues to offer his services on a freelance basis and specializes in sound recording, camera operation and grip work.
